The game was officially announced in 2018, Hypixel Studios was bought outright by Riot Game in 2020, development dragged on until Hytale was canceled in June last year, and then in November Hytale Studios reformed independently and announced no, Hytale isn't canceled after all. It's been a long trek from Hytale's start to today and there's years of work ahead, but finally, after all these years, the open world survival adventure is available to play in its earliest form.
