Screenshot by Destructoid Next, you'll need to place the Cockpit in order to steer your ship. You should have received one when you found your ship, so hit I on the keyboard and search your inventory. If you don't find one, you might need to restart. Alternatively, you can try to build one, but it might take a while to get the resources.

With the cockpit set down and the engines running, you can tap W to increase forward speed and S to decrease it. Shift lowers your vertical speed, making you sink down, while hitting the spacebar raises your vertical speed.

And just like that, you're a seasoned... uh, captain? Maybe pilot? Whatever, you have your very own flying ship. The rest is up to you. Don't feel too bad when you inevitably ******, though; those ships aren't the easiest to control!
