Blue Protocol Star Resonance is now available on PC and in more regions following its Steam debut, and there are many classes for you to explore.

All classes inside the game have their own strengths and weaknesses. This guide will list down the best options and help you understand what separates them from the not-so-good ones.

It's essential to understand how classes work in

. There are eight classes to pick from, and they range between DPS, Tank, and Support. However, every class offers two speciailizations that drastically differentiate between how they work. Hence, you have 16 options to be precise, and I have used four tiers to judge them.

  • S-tier options are the best choices in the current meta.
  • A-tier options are very close to the S-tier but slightly weaker in terms of their abilities.
  • B-tier options require a lot of skill and mastery for you to dominate with them.
  • C-tier options are choices that I will stay away from personally.
Disclaimer: Thorn Lash is yet to be assessed.

S-tier
  • Beast Master: The Beast Master specialization has a fantastic set of abilities that shine more in boss battles. Thanks to your wolf, you can stay in the backline, dishing out damage. You don't have to do much to preserve your life, and you don't have to rely on having a purely Crit-based build either. While you lack in AoE damage, Beast Master is still an excellent choice for most players.
  • Frost Lance: If you want the perfect hybrid for dealing damage. You get to do plenty of AoE damage with moves like Meteor Storm, or opt for Ice Spears when your Mystic Ice is already built up. The AoE attacks are slightly on the slower side, but the amount of options you get is truly magnificent.
  • Dissonance: This is clearly the best Support class in the entire game. Your healing will scale with damage, which means you can gear yourself as a damage dealer. The more damage you do, the more you heal. Once you learn to master your abilities, Dissonance, by far, is the best class to go for.
  • Block: If you're a tank main and love their defensive gameplay, this will be your favorite class. While Stonewall is a solid choice, Block shines more in the late and endgame. Block offers better sustains by reducing the impact of damage over time. You also have decent damage potential to take down the enemy, but your strength is the consistency in maintaining your HP while saving your squishier teammates.
A-tier
  • Radiant Guard: While Radiant Guard is the best Shield knight specialization, the class as a whole is slightly weak. Compared to Heavy Guardia, you'll do better damage. You also get a huge shield, which directly scales with your HP. The key to your build is to have as much HP as possible and stick close to your healers.
  • Healing: If you have reached endgame content like Dragon Raids, Healing spec reaches S-tier since they're a must-have on every team. Otherwise, you're better off using Dissonance. While you can heal more as a healer, Dissonance's damage potential puts it ahead. However, if you're in a well-coordinated team, being a healer can be a good option. Your task will be to stay behind and keep your allies alive for long enough to take their enemies down.
  • Concerto: Concerto is an excellent support choice, all thanks to its team-wide buffs. This class also offers you the potential to deal decent damage, and actually has better dodge chances than Dissonance. However, the latter has better damage potential and significantly better healing.
  • Iaido: If you're the type of player who wants a steady melee DPS option, the Iaido class is a good choice. Spend your Thunder Sigils on buffs once it is at max level for hitting the enemies hard.
  • Overdrive Vanguard: When used right, Vanguard can do a lot of damage, all thanks to its immense combo potential. However, you'll have to have your positioning on point and perform the combos well. Do so, and Overdrive can carry your entire team.
  • Bulwark: Bulwark is a pretty standard choice if you want to enjoy a tank with good sustainability and damage. Your self-sustains are more than enough to last you through a battle on your own. However, your max HP won't be very high, so rely on dodging strong incoming attacks.
B-tier
  • Moonblade: Like Iaido, Moonblade is a decent choice, but dodging damage means that you'll have to rely on combos. This class requires a lot of time to master the controls, and also lacks AoE damage potential.
  • Ray: The key with Ray is to stay put at the same place and do damage. It's a good choice for beginners, but you will want to move around in the endgame. This makes it a weaker choice than Frost Lance, but it's a fun class.
  • Stonewall: A decent tank class, but I found it to be a hard one to master. It does better damage than Block style, but the latter has a better kit overall. Moreover, the cooldowns are too long for my liking, which really restricts what you can do with it.
  • Falconry: While it's one of the best classes for AoE damage, Falconry has many limitations in hitting single-target enemies. You'll have to pair the class with other specs that can clear single-target enemies for it to shine. Despite its strengths, Falconry is a highly team-reliant class.
C-tier
  • Aerial: This is the most terrain-reliant class of all, and I found its movements to be extremely clunky on my phone. It's a decent class that has good AoE damage potential, but the movement mechanics make it a really hard one to master.
