Chrono Odyssey, a gigantic fantasy MMO with a seamless open world, is far from unique. However, the game's time travel theme and its science-fantasy premise, where an eldritch force straight out of Alien hits a medieval world, give a special flavor in a crowded space. Evidently, Steam players have found it memorable. Since the playtest opened, Chrono Odyssey has hit an in-game peak of 64,886 players (as of publication), which is impressive for a closed playtest from an unproven developer.
