Perth traffic: Fridges fall of truck on Powis Street entry to Mitchell Freeway

A truck driver has received a cool reception after a load of refrigerators toppled onto a busy freeway on-ramp on Monday morning.

The truck lost its load of brand new fridges on the Powis Street eastbound entry to Mitchell Freeway about 10.20am.

The fridges were strewn across the road, blocking the right turning lane.

Mains Road WA have closed the eastbound entry to the freeway as they work to clear the mess.

The incident has caused congestion, with drivers urged to exercise extreme caution and choose an alternative route.

Westbound entry to the Mitchell Freeway southbound remains open.

The truck driver was not hurt.
