One man has been charged and another fined $1500 over two separate antisocial incidents at Perth Airport.

The *********** Federal Police say a 24-year-old man allegedly used threatening and offensive language towards airline staff after his brother missed his flight to Broome on May 16.

Police arrested the man after he allegedly continued to use offensive language towards officers.

The 24-year-old was charged with acting in a disorderly manner in public, which carries a maximum fine of $6000.

He is due to front Perth Magistrates Court on Thursday.

Just two days later, the AFP attended a departure gate at Perth Airport after reports a 36-year-old man was using offensive language and talking loudly on a mobile phone.

When police approached him, the man continued to use offensive language and made offensive hand gestures towards officers.

Police say the 36-year-old tried to resist his arrest and attempted to flee, before being placed in the back of a police vehicle.

He faced Perth Magistrates Court on May 19 where he was fined $1500 for obstructing public officers and acting in a disorderly manner.

AFP Inspector Peter Brindal said officers had zero tolerance for anti-social or threatening behaviour.

“All travellers, visitors and staff deserve to feel safe at the airport and shouldn’t be subjected to offensive or aggressive incidents,” he said.

“If anyone feels unsafe or witnesses anything suspicious inside the Perth Airport precinct, they are urged to contact Airport Watch or report it to the nearest AFP officer.”
