R to drift for a different but similar kind of speed boost to ensure that you're always moving quickly and staying ahead of the pack in every race.

You can also rail ride by simply landing or driving onto a rail. Some rails begin on the ground, so it's easy to do, while others require you to get some air. This can be done by Charge Jumping or even using the new Feather item, which launches you into the air.
