See incredible views of Norman tornado, severe weather event

Much of Central Oklahoma saw serious rainfall but only one tornado was produced as a result of Tuesday’s storm system.

One tornado was confirmed by the National Weather Service just after 5 p.m. on Tuesday as it was seen moving east toward 36th Street and Main Street in Norman.

While the tornado stayed on the metro’s south side, much of the metro was covered in sheets of clouds and heavy rain during rush hour traffic.

The NWS reported 1.38″ of rainfall in the metro area on Tuesday, and 1.18″ in Norman specifically.

Tornado damage in OKC

Officials at the NWS report “hardly any damage” in the Oklahoma City metro. Nonetheless, Tuesday’s storm brought a confirmed tornado, as well as hail, heavy winds and flooding throughout the area.
