The churro bites were sold at Aldi stores in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee in a 7.05-ounce cardboard box with the lot number 01425 and a “best if used by” date of July 14, 2025.

The recall was initiated after a consumer discovered that the product’s packaging did not indicate the possible presence of milk. Camerican International of Paramus, New Jersey, the maker of the Casa Mamita product, reported that the issue was due to a “temporary breakdown” during processing and packaging; the problem has since been resolved.

Don’t consume the product if you have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk, as it can cause serious or life-threatening reactions. Throw the item away or return it to an Aldi store for a full refund. It’s still safe to eat for those who do not have any milk allergies or intolerances.

Immediate symptoms can include hives, wheezing, itching or a tingling feeling around the lips or mouth, swelling of the lips, tongue, or throat, coughing or shortness of breath, and vomiting. A serious milk allergy can also cause anaphylaxis, a life-threatening reaction that narrows the airways and can block breathing. So far, no illnesses have been reported in relation to the recall.
