Independence Police Chief Adam Dustman on ‘requested leave,’ city says

Independence police chief Adam Dustman is on “requested leave” from the department, the City of Independence confirmed in a statement to KMBC 9 Investigates on Thursday. Chief Dustman began the leave on Friday, May 23rd. KMBC has confirmed through two sources, who wished not to be named due to the sensitivity of the matter, the Independence Police Department has opened an internal affairs investigation into Chief Dustman for conduct during National Police Week in Washington D.C.
