Marvel Rivals Season 3 Can Introduce the One Hero Custom Made To be Anti-Flier

Marvel Rivals has been smashing it lately, and NetEase Games’ foray into the AAA live-service market seems to be going rather well, save for a few hiccups. Ultron was, however, a disappointment, and adding in yet another flying ‘hero’ to the meta has not sat well with a lot of players.

In particular, Marvel Rivals currently has no way to deal with flying foes, and the addition of one X-Man to the game with the Season 3 update could make shooting down flying targets relatively painless.

Marvel Rivals should introduce Cyclops with Season 3

Season 3 of Marvel Rivals will be released quite soon, and given how lackluster the second half of Season 2 was, it better be good. One of the more common complaints newcomers (and veterans) to the game have is the near-complete absence of a way to deal with airborne units.

Airborne units are, frankly speaking, a pain to deal with – especially if you use a character that cannot scale vertically (like Wolverine). This makes them quite a menace on the battlefield, and fans have been practically begging Netease Games to release anti-air units for quite some time now.

This is where the leader of the X-Men, Cyclops, comes in. Introducing Cyclops to the game should not pose to be a challenge, especially given that we have had quite a few X-Men in the game as of late.

For the uninitiated, Cyclops, aka Scott Summers, is a mutant superhero who made his first debut in The X-Men, released back in September 1963. Cyclops can release concussive blasts from his eyes that dish out incredible damage and firepower.

He has since grown to become the leader of the X-Men and is considered by many to be one of the strongest characters in the Marvel Universe.

Cyclops, with his characteristic red optic visor, can fire beams of hard light at enemies, effectively turning him into an anti-flier unit. Being able to shoot down those pesky flying units should not pose a challenge for the master tactician.

Of course, in-game balance has to be accounted for here, and Cyclops must also be built with a few weaknesses in mind – or else it might risk breaking the game’s progression and meta even further.

Cyclops would be a very compelling character, and there are a lot of things to implement

To say that Cyclops would be game-changing for Marvel Rivals would be an understatement. If implemented correctly, he has the potential to send flight-based heroes back home quite easily.

To begin with, Cyclops should primarily use his optic beams to deal damage, which could be released in either short bursts or with a long-range attack that brings with it a much longer cooldown.

Thanks to his experience on the battlefield, Cyclops should also be a great hand-to-hand combatant, which should come in clutch. As far as team compositions go, Cyclops and Emma Frost would be the most obvious pick here.

Wolverine and Psylocke might also be good alternatives here.
