Diamond Member Pelican Press 0 Posted June 5, 2025 Diamond Member Share Posted June 5, 2025 This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up PS5 State of Play Should Burn in Hell for No Bloodborne PC Release We had yet another State of Play event yesterday, giving us a look at what’s to come on both PS5 and PS5 Pro. The show is packed with massive reveals for various franchises such as Silent Hill, Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater, and the long-rumored Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice. However, the State of Play show came and went without a single mention of the Bloodborne PC port. Seriously, it’s been almost a decade since the release of the Souslborne, and PlayStation still wants to gatekeep it behind its consoles? It’s just pathetic at this point. Sony will do anything but give us a Bloodborne PC port It’s fair to say that Bloodborne is one of the finest FromSoftware titles out there. The Soulslike debuted in 2015 for PlayStation 4 consoles and received critical acclaim from both critics and fans. Considering the success of the game and the fact that it was released nearly a decade ago, fans have been demanding a re-release of the title and a full-fledged port to PC. So, why haven’t we seen a port yet? Well, Bloodborne was released as an exclusive title for PlayStation 4. Soulslike was a collaboration project between Japan Studio and FromSoftware, with the publishing work handled by Sony Computer Entertainment. Unfortunately, in 2011, Japan Studio faced closure, and Sony retained the ownership of the game’s source code. In an interview with This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up Hidetaka Miyazaki was asked about the possibility of Bloodborne being ported to PC. Even though he wasn’t opposed to the idea, Miyazaki said that he’d get in serious trouble if he ever said that he wanted a Bloodborne PC port. FromSoftware is a studio that doesn’t lock its games behind consoles, as seen with titles such as Elden Ring and Sekiro. This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up Bloodborne fans. (Image via Sony) However, most of the developers’ games have been handled by Bandai Namco, which looks to be much more relaxed. In the case of Bloodborne, Sony has the right to call all the shots, and for some odd reason, it’s been hesitant to port over the game to PC. This is despite the fact that we’ve seen a number of PlayStation exclusives jumping ship to PC in the last couple of years. Considering Xbox’s hot streak in the last couple of months, many gamers believed that PlayStation would finally pull out its Bloodborne PC port card at its State of Play 2025 and claim its throne again. However, at this point, a Bloodborne port seems like a distant dream. State of Play abandoned another big game This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up Marathon be yet another Concord-level disaster? (Image via Sony) Sony’s latest State of Play didn’t just mistreat the Bloodborne IP; even Bungie’s Marathon didn’t receive any kind of information. However, in this case, it makes sense why Sony doesn’t want to go near this game in its current state. If you’re unaware, Marathon is Bungie’s next title. It’s a sci-fi shooter with an eye-catching art style, which proved to be the reason it became engulfed in controversies. Recently, it was discovered that one of the former Bungie employees plagiarized some of the in-game art. Even though Bungie issued an official apology and stated that it was working hard on all plagiarized assets, the damage was done. Marathon‘s public perception, to put it lightly, isn’t the best, and it doesn’t help that its alpha tests were also a mixed bag. Even though the Marathon is supposed to be released on September 23, it found no mention at the State of Play. Its absence suggests that the show means only one thing: there’s a delay on the cards. Sony seriously can’t afford to have another live-service failure after the disaster of Concord, which cost the studio $500 million. With that said, why do you think PlayStation is holding back on a Bloodborne PC port?
