Helldivers 2 devs scrap free cosmetic following PSN controversy

As a 45yo gamer with accounts everywhere, here is why I disagree with this “request”.

This isn’t for us. This is for Sony to manipulate numbers to boost PSN to further ingrain it into us that it’s fine to pay for monthly services simply to access the games we used to access for free.

These are stores, not just empty accounts. This ensures you are a legit person and not a fake account. This enables Sony to further erode the platform for which we use.

Next we will need a monthly fee to play PC games online. Xbox or PSN paid accounts will be required for PC online play. This isn’t $5 a month any more, it’s $15+ and just rising every year.

Stop being sheep. Please. I love gaming but capitalism is ruining it and you’re all just following along letting it happen. The only thing we can do is ****** back with our wallets.

They first change our habits to desensitize to linking out accounts to PSN.

Then it become normal and everyone does it.

Then they begin to charge for it, saying it’s required to continue using the platform. But now they have many users and the studio can’t afford to turn away the store and the platform.

We’re paying more, studio is paying more, none of us gamers benefit, only Sony.
