Will Dune Awakening be on PS Plus?

There’s absolutely no denying that Dune Awakening is one of the most anticipated titles of 2025. This is a survival MMO from the minds who’ve given us Conan Exiles (Funcom), allowing players to dive into the desert world of Arrakis.

If you’re a PlayStation gamer who can’t wait to get your hands on Dune Awakening, you might be wondering if it will be available on PlayStation (PS) Plus. After all, the subscription service is a bang for the buck and has almost every game out there. Let’s take a look at whether or not Dune Awakening will be available on PS Plus.

Is Dune Awakening coming to PS Plus?

Unfortunately, Dune Awakening will not be coming to PS Plus. Funcom has not provided us with any official information about the title’s arrival on the PlayStation subscription service.

This doesn’t mean there’s absolutely no shot of the title being added to the subscription service in the future. If you’re unaware, back in April 2019, PS Plus customers were given the opportunity to download the developer’s Conan Exiles for absolutely free. However, the game was removed later.

MMO games are some of the most popular ones in the market, and gamers simply can’t get enough of them. However, there’s one issue with these games: a monthly subscription. Most MMOs rely on a monthly subscription model, which isn’t appreciated by gamers.

However, Dune Awakening won’t be following the monthly subscription trend. A few months ago, Joel Bylos, the game’s Creative Director,

insights into the business model and post-launch plans for Dune Aakwneing. According to him, the title won’t have any monthly subscriptions.

After its initial launch, the game will continue to receive free updates that bring new content, features, and quality-of-life improvements. All of these updates will also include an optional paid DLC.

We don’t know how much these are going to cost, but Dune Awakening Deluxe Edition brings a season pass that offers four DLCs with other bonuses, and costs $70. That’s $20 more than the price of the base game itself. It’s going to be interesting to see how Funcom’s business models shape the game.

However, one thing’s for sure: Dune Awakening will be a complete package at launch. This isn’t something we should be happy about, but let’s not forget about the current state of the gaming industry, where broken games are released on the promise of being complete one day.
