Elden Ring Nightreign Players Are Just Catching on to How Boluses Can Make or Break a Run

Boluses are a type of consumables in Elden Ring Nightreign, previously featured in Elden Ring, whose function is to reduce or ease any negative status effect that a Nightfarer may be suffering from, such as frostbite, poison, and bleed, among others. But there’s a lot more to them here than meets the eye.

The primary function of boluses remains the same, but they’ve received a silent upgrade that is capable of making or breaking a run through Limveld. Amidst all the frantic and chaotic battles in Elden Ring Nightreign, take a break and have some boluses, and it might just save you.

Boluses: A permanent consumable blessing in disguise in Elden Ring Nightreign

Players are finally discovering that something as trivial as boluses in Elden Ring Nightreign can turn the tide of battle and make losing runs winnable effortlessly, as the resistance buffs they offer to the corresponding status effects stay throughout an entire match and do not expire if you die.

That’s not even the end of it. Consuming the same boluses repeatedly will stack, increasing the amount of resistance provided, and it’ll be denoted with a “+” symbol (e.g., Blood Loss Resistance +5). There seems to be no wait time between consuming boluses for them to stack either.

Despite the inventory system in Nightreign being very limited, the ability of boluses to provide a permanent buff omits it from that restriction. So you don’t need to worry about not being able to pick up boluses when your inventory’s full, just consume them immediately, and you’re set for the remainder of the run.

Plus, they gradually recover HP too when consumed, so boluses are the true game-changers in the multiplayer roguelike title. Not any weapon, not any class, but a simple consumable that most players wouldn’t even think of.

The Nightreign subreddit has been losing its mind ever since discovering the privilege boluses bestows upon a Nightfarer, and from the reactions below, there’s a groundswell of opinions supporting the sweet buff.

Gobble up the boluses as soon as you get them, Nightfarers, because there’s no telling when things can go south in Elden Ring Nightreign. Hopefully, FromSoftware doesn’t patch this out as it would be a significant killjoy. Just let the Nightfarers have this, please.

Make your runs even easier with the best team composition in Elden Ring Nightreign

Not only boluses, but also what class you play with has a direct impact on your runs in Elden Ring Nightreign. Sure, any class can be made viable with the right items, but there’s a clear winner when it comes to the best team composition in the game.

The current meta favors having three Ironeyes on your team, as it comes with a great set of benefits. For starters, this is an archer class, which makes damaging bosses and reviving teammates way easier. You don’t need to be close to do either; all you need to do is shoot your shots.

It’s completely busted, as you can stack debuffs on enemies, stagger bosses, and interrupt their attacks, all without even getting close. However, this raises an issue with the game: if Ironeye is so good, then what’s the point in having other classes?

This is a valid question, and it’s kinda disappointing when a class is so unbalanced, it becomes the meta rather than having a roster of balanced classes, giving you the freedom to choose anyone. For now, that’s just a mere illusion.

So, what do you think about the bolus buff in Elden Ring Nightreign? Were you aware of their effects? Share your thoughts and opinions in the comment section below.
