Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME is the first-ever game adaptation of the Kaiju No. 8 franchise. Developed by Akatsuki Games, the video game is yet to receive a release date. However, the latest update suggests a new character called Sagan Shinomiya.

On Monday, a new character was revealed for Kaiju No. 8, the smartphone and PC game. The latest character is Sagan Shinomiya, who is Kikoru Shinomiya’s adoptive sister. She is an original character, designed just for the game, and has not appeared in either the manga or the anime.

Kikoru Shinomiya is one of the main characters of the series, and the daughter of the Director General of the Defense Force. As the story progresses, she acquires control of the Numbers Weapon 4. Being the adoptive sister of Kikoru means that Sagan has grown up with her under Isao Shinomiya’s care.

Sagan Shinomiya’s voice actress is Akari Kito, who already has a huge resume in the anime and games field. She is the voice actress of Nezuko Kamado from ****** Slayer, Nene Yashiro from Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun, Suzune Horikita from Classroom of the Elite, and more.

of Sagan Shinomiya suggests that she was orphaned by a Kaiju disaster and was later adopted by the Shinomiya family. However, she later moved to the US and joined the defense force there. Currently, she serves in a special unit called Closing Order with Zero Restrictions, or CLOZER. (This would justify why she isn’t present in the canon world.)

The game is expanding the current storyline and universe and adding new officers as well as Kaijus. CLOZER itself is a non-canonical unit that was formed to investigate Kaiju Dimensional Gates.

Kaiju Dimensional Gates are mysterious gateways created by unknown Kaiju. Due to this phenomenon, colossal Kaiju from other dimensions emerge for the heroes to battle. Sagan isn’t the only original character to appear in the game, and there will probably be more additions soon.

handle @KaijuNo8_O_EN/X has been keeping up a steady output of details. One of the latest announcements also revealed that supposedly neutralized Kaiju like Kaiju No. 1 and Kaiju No. 2 will also appear in the game.

After being first announced in June 2024, the anime is dropping hints at what fans can expect from it. A release date has not been confirmed yet, though the App Store listing states a date of August 31, 2025. The upcoming game will launch for Android, iOS, and PC via Steam.
