The Guardian class in Elden Ring Nightreign has a lot of potential

From the start, you’ll notice that Guardian may not seem like a top-tier pick. His damage output is okay compared to other classes, and even his supposed role as a tank seems okay. With stats that favor Health (S) and Stamina (A), he was clearly designed for a more tanky and crowd-controlling role in the team. But as one player has found, that’s not all there is to the Guardian.

post made just two days after the game’s launch, one player suggests that unlocking all four Remembrance rewards is what you need to do to make Guardian work. His upgraded skills and abilities turn him into the ultimate frontline and crowd controller. You can even heal, too!

To even begin the questline, players need to meet several prerequisites, including unlocking the journal at Roundtable Hold, acquiring the Revenant character (which is required by Chapter 8), and farming memory fragments by defeating Nightlords.

In addition to the DLC releasing later this year, new additions will be gradually implemented, including enhanced fights against existing Nightlords starting this month, as well as Duo Expeditions at a later date.

In Chapter 4, we have to defeat the Guardian Golem and unlock the Stone Stake. In Chapter 6, we see the death of a mysterious visitor in the Roundtable Hold, which leads to us getting the Guardian’s Chalice. In Chapter 7, we have to find and defeat the ****** Merchant for a tome to get the Third Volume relic.

We can only unlock Chapter 9 with enough memory fragments and the Revenant unlocked. The Guardian ultimately forgives the Recluse, concluding the questline and giving us the Witch’s Brooch and a unique skin.

With these new relics, the Guardian’s abilities get a big upgrade. The Steel Guard blocks enemy attacks with minimal stamina loss but also reflects damage back to enemies. Whirlwind has an extended duration and faster cooldown. Wings of Salvation lets you heal allies in an AoE and revive downed allies with full immunity.

Games and gamers often focus on which class can do the most damage, but the Guardian’s late-game build shows that having utility and survivability are equally vital, especially in coordinated trios. And since the game could get harder over time, having a Guardian on the team might become mandatory for high-tier content in the future.

We recently got the first update for the game since release, alongside an update that the game has sold 3.5 million copies. The patch improves a lot of things for solo players and should hopefully balance the experience. Getting back to the Guardian, it might be time to reconsider.
