Every Location in Hammerfell Worth Visiting If The Elder Scrolls 6 Rumor Is True

Bethesda has been on a roll in recent months with remasters and various other projects. However, there’s still no new information about the highly anticipated Elder Scrolls 6. That’s right, it’s been seven years since the initial trailer for the RPG, and we still don’t know anything about the plot, release window, or what it might bring in terms of features.

One of the biggest mysteries surrounding Elder Scrolls 6 is where exactly it will take place within the world of Tamriel. When the initial teaser announcement was revealed at the 2018 event, we were given a brief of the landscape that consisted of mountains, greenery, and what looked to be a city. This was enough to get players to speculate about the game’s possible locations.

Popular theory suggests that the province of Hammerfeel is the most likely candidate for the Elder Scrolls 6‘s setting. It’s a region that’s filled with areas featuring everything from dense jungles to sprawling deserts. Considering the diversity of Hammerfell, certain locations within the province deserve to be explored in Elder Scrolls 6.

7 Sentinel

Sentinel is one of the most popular Redguard cities and serves as the capital of the Kingdom of Sentinel. It sits in the northwestern hills of Hammerfell, overlooking the Iliac Bay. Sentinel is one of the few places in the world in Tamriel that offers us cultural grandeur with an equally magnificent natural environment.

Sentinel isn’t a highly populated area due to the fact it’s surrounded by the Alik’r Desert. However, there are a number of fertile fields that can be located along the city’s coast that have allowed it to flourish as a major population and trade center.

In the Elder Scrolls verse, Sentinel is regarded as a luxurious retreat for all the nobility hailing from Wayrest and Daggerfall. It’s a city that offers excellent craftsmanship, cuisine, and performances. If it weren’t for Sentinel, we wouldn’t have had some historical figures in such as the Redguard hero Cyrus and poet Welton.

It’s not just these things either, as Sentinel is known for its political importance, naval strength, and architecture. It’s a prime candidate to be the focal point of the rumored Hammerfell setting of Elder Scrolls 6.

6 Alik’r Desert

One thing Elder Scrolls fans find quite weird is that Bethesda still hasn’t properly explored a desert region in the single-player games. However, all of that could change if Elder Scrolls 6 takes place in Hammerfell and embraces the Alik’r Desert.

The Alik’r Desert stretches across Hammerfell’s northeastern coast and inland expanses. It’s the most striking and unforgiving landscape one can find in Hammerfell. The entire terrain is dominated by blistering heat, sandstorms, and dunes. Right below its scorching sands are the Yokudan ruins, lost temples, and hidden tombs that are filled with treasure and, of course, danger.

It’s not as if Alik’r Desert isn’t inhabited. We can find several settlements, such as Sentinel and Vergma, which have adapted to the harsh life of the desert and use the fertile lands near the coast. Redguard tribes travel the desert on ancestral paths and survive through extensive knowledge of the region, hidden water sources, and unique tools.

The desert is also divided into various regions where we can find training grounds, ports, and other things.

5 Dragonstar

Dragonstar lies at the southern borders of Skyrim and High Rock. It’s along the foothills of the iconic Dragontail Mountains within the Craglorn region. Since it’s a strategic location, we’ve seen a number of territorial disputes over it.

Dragonstar has always been a point of political tension between Nords and Reguards. Both sides claim the city as their own and have even launched campaigns for its takeover. It’s a city that’s considered to be a haven for those who aren’t fit for life in the Empire. It’s bordered by several settlements such as the Dragon Gate and Heldron Mount.

It’s a city that hasn’t been explored in the Elder Scrolls verse, but that could change with the next RPG. We could see Elder Scrolls 6 diving into the city’s factions and offering unique storylines. There are a lot of opportunities for this location in Hammerfell, and it would be a shame if its potential is not realized.

4 Craglorn

Craglorn is another vast region within Hammerfell that’s right between Bangkorai and Cyrodiil. It’s divided between Lower and Upper Craglorn, where Belkarth anchors the southern position, and Dragonstar on the north. All of these areas are connected with each other through mountain passes and ruined landscapes that were once under the control of Iron Orcs.

Craglorn’s narrative revolves around the disappearance of constellations from the night sky. This was an event that sent the entire region into chaos and introduced us to celestial beings and ancient properties. It’s a region that’s the only known source of nirncrux, a rare ore used for crafting powerful gear. This is why it’s known as the hub for both artisans and warriors in Hammerfell.

Craiglorn’s cosmic lore and geographic diversity make it an ideal location to be explored in Elder Scrolls 6. Various quests can be introduced to give players challenges to complete in the region and unravel all the mysteries.

3 Rihad

Rihad is situated right at the southern tip of the Brena River in Hammerfell. It’s mainly occupied by the Forebeaers, who are the descendants of Ra Gada. Rihad thrives as a maritime hub as the tropical wet-dry climate shapes its economy and environment.

In the south of the city, we can find the ancient Alyeird ruins of Varlaisvea, which offer excellent opportunities for exploration and historical diversity. Rihand’s surrounding areas are filled with a number of settlements, such as the Chaseguard, Stonemmooer, and the Imperial Province.

Rihard would serve as a perfect frontier city in Elder Scrolls 6, and for all the quests that involved aspects such as diplomacy and trade. It offers a mix of Imperial and Reguard influence that isn’t seen in other cities of Hammerfell.

2 Stros M’Kai

It’s been heavily rumored that Elder Scrolls 6 could bring naval battles and ship-building mechanics into the mix. If that’s indeed the case, we need to Stros M’Kai in Hammerfell.

Stros M’Kai is a small island that can be found on the southeastern coast, but don’t underestimate it due to its size. The island is a hideout for pirates sailing the Abecean Sea. It’s governed by Headman Bhoshek from his palace in Port Hunding.

In the Elder Scrolls Online, gamers of the Daggerfall Covenant kick off their adventure on Stros M’Kai after escaping Coldharbour. During the Covenant questline, Captain Kaleen recruits the player to raid Bhoshek’s palace and gather evidence that he has gone against King Fahar’jad’s edict.

Stros M’Kai is filled with hidden caves, beaches, and ruins that would offer players in Elder Scrolls 6 some incredible opportunities for exploration.

1 Ska’vyn

Ska’vyn is one of the major cities in Hammerfell and can be found in the region of Sunforge near the Dragontail Mountains. In the third era, it was the capital of the Kingdom of Skaven and still remains a crucial place where the ancient Yokudan traditions are preserved.

It’s a location that’s known for trade, travel, and warfare between Argonians and their Imperial rivals. Outside the city, one can find curious landmarks such as the Caverns of Wrywhere local breeds of Skav Bats can be found.

The city is also surrounded by various settlements, such as Verkarth City, Heldron Mount, and Cliff Keep. It’s strategically located, which adds to its importance and mysterious nature. It’s a place that hasn’t been explored since Elder Scrolls: Arena, and is definitely worth revisiting.
