New Achievement Is Proof Ultron Mains Need to Touch Grass

Marvel Rivals is out with the second half of its Season 2, which brings with it an all-new hero, Ultron. Ultron is the newest character to join the playable roster, and is a strategist-type unit.

Ultron can make use of Drones in combat to both buff teammates and dish out damage to enemies at the same time. The character was released on May 30, 2025, and has already been mastered by some players, much to the amusement of many.

Players have already unlocked Ultron’s Lord Icon in Marvel Rivals

Lord Icons are considered to be one of Marvel Rivals’ more difficult items to obtain, and are generally proof of your mastery of the said character rendered within the icon.

Players can unlock Lord Icons for their favorite characters by simply maxing out their proficiency.

To do so, one must simply play using the character for a set amount of time (usually 15+ hours total!) – in addition to completing certain objectives. This will unlock the corresponding Hero Icon for the character, which is indicated by the character portrait surrounded by a lightning bolt.

Given that it has been barely over a day since Ultron was released globally in Marvel Rivals, it is quite intriguing to witness players with Lord Icons already. Players have already no-lifed their way through the progression system to unlock it.

After all, most players have likely not even booted the first season yet – and folks have already managed to master the character, in a true display of skill and free time.

With over 16 hours past the game’s release of Ultron, it is quite an impossible feat. There exist two explanations. 

The first and most obvious one would be simply to sit in a corner and spam drones (along with secondary fire), which is a euphemism for how disappointingly simple the character is to play.

The second reasoning is a bit more sinister. Marvel Rivals does have a fair share of hackers, and these players have likely boosted their way through the game to unlock the Lord Icon.

It is especially more apparent given how Ultron is still a very popular pick in the game (given he was just released), and is otherwise inaccessible to most players during matches.

While this is unfortunately a rather common occurrence, at the very least, it does not negatively affect the experience of other players in any way. The Lord Icon is, after all, a purely cosmetic addition.

Gaming is healthier with breaks in between

As the old saying goes, players need to touch grass more often. Gaining an achievement is fine and good, but not at the cost of shutting yourself in from the rest of the world. Always remember to take breaks between your gaming sessions, for both your mental sanity and physical well-being.

Marvel Rivals is simply another example of this very trend, and it should be remembered that gaming is best enjoyed with little breaks to keep the experience more pleasant and feel less like a chore.
