The main problem they are facing is with a narrative that can drive engagement. Take a look at Helldivers 2, the narrative is so engaging that it brings a lot of players! The Division 2 has been stagnant, even though they recently released the Battle for Brooklyn DLC. Why not make an evolving story like Helldivers 2? It would be more beneficial for the game, as it revolves around narrative. Maybe create active storylines and follow up with another immediately, so that players don’t get bored. The Division 2 has a huge problem, and having an engaging narrative would be a clutch moment This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up 2 is burning as a franchise, and Ubisoft is to blame. | Image Credit: Ubisoft After long delays, The Division 2 community finally got their hands on the Brooklyn-based DLC. However, the spike in player count shows that it hasn’t gotten everyone interested. The community even thought that the game was on the verge of dying, and it couldn’t be more true. In comparison, Arrowhead Games Studio recently ended its Illuminate invasion in Helldivers 2, which shows a striking difference. Following the launch of Heart of Democracy, the game observed a massive rise in player base, as it was inviting to the players. A similar situation was seen using Omen of Tyranny as well. Hearts of Democracy was a massive success, as it was an event that required a lot of manpower. A live event where all the players come together to defend their homeland. A narrative that embraces the players with a sense of pride and nationalism is all it took. This is a showcase of how Arrowhead turned the tide with one simple expansion. If The Division 2 has to stay in the game, they have to adapt and incentivize players to join the game. A revival plan is all Ubisoft needs to bring the game back on its feet. However, knowing their lack of prompt development raises doubts. However, if they do something similar to Helldiver 2, there might be a chance of reviving the game. Ubisoft’s disastrous updates that get worse with time Even though Ubisoft has started its damage control initiative, it would be enough to save them. There is a massive cesspool that Ubisoft completely overlooks, and they don’t want to fix it. It’s greed that holds them back, and there’s nothing consumers can do about it. One of the biggest reasons why Ubisoft can’t succeed in the live-service market is its exceptionally slow development. For instance, they’ll be releasing Rainbow Six Siege X soon, however, it already has problems. The free-to-play title update has been in the making for three years! Yet, they can’t perfect it. Now, take a look at The Division 2; the Battle for Brooklyn was delayed for months. To make matters worse, Ubisoft is also charging $14.99 for it. Not only did they delay the DLC, but they also want to make big bucks from it. While Helldivers 2 is providing new and better content without charging for it. Shame, Ubisoft. Even if Ubisoft knows that their games are garbage, they are never afraid to be greedy. Additionally, the update doesn’t have much to offer other than a few zones and a balancing patch. Basically, they are selling a band-aid for a wound they themselves caused. Do you think Ubisoft should take the same steps as Arrowhead did with Helldivers 2? How else do you think The Division 2 can be saved from its inevitable doom? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
