Activision has not left a chance to put predatory schemes into action. If people don’t speak up, it will likely become another “feature” that will be added to every live-action title. Thanks to greedy microtransactions, live-service games are losing their glamour with every passing second. While people have called out EA for its greed, Activision is now a solid competitor. While it is particularly known for promoting microtransactions, it is now taking it up a notch. “Activision and its greed” is a tale that will never end This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up Activision has been actively supporting its games through seasonal updates, like all development studios should do. However, the most recent COD update has caused a lot of outrage, and it should be like that. With Call of Duty Season 4, they’ve made the predatory move to put adverts in places where they shouldn’t be. In Call of Duty: ****** Ops 6, Activision silently put bundle ads within the loadout menu. Not that it is kept as a secondary option, it’s right on the front page. “You need to change your loadout for your XM4? Try our…” Just stop, Activision. If the player base had spoken up or boycotted their game, this day wouldn’t have come. You’re paying for a game, then you’re again paying in-game to get certain skins. Only to get the game replaced by a new one, and buy it regardless. Call of Duty Warzone is a freemium game, so ads in that game wouldn’t have been a big deal. But putting ads in games where people have already paid for? That’s completely outrageous, and fans shouldn’t tolerate it. Call of Duty fans are disappointed, and they should be Fans of Call of Duty are genuinely frustrated with Activision’s greedy moves. These bundle ads have pushed them enough to consider leaving their favorite franchise. This is something they should have done previously, as Call of Duty has lost its quality completely. Hell, they still sell fake stories of having skill-based matchmaking to show how great they are. They have a store section for some reason, right? But no, you need to shove your skin within the game as well. What’s next? Pop-up ads during the game, so that players can get brainwashed by you? Due to your predatory practices, players have decided to move from your game, Activision.
