Marvel Rivals Season 2.5 Hawkeye Buff Has Created One Huge Problem in QP: The Bots Never Miss

After weeks of anticipation, Marvel Rivals Season 2.5 is finally here! With this update, NetEase Games has dropped Ultron as a brand-new Strategist in the hero-shooter. There are two new events, giving players an extra battle pass to grind through and granting new skins for Magneto, Storm, and Mr Fantastic.

As you’d expect, the Season 2.5 update also brings a number of balancing changes. Several heroes, such as Hela and Doctor Strange, have been buffed, while others, such as Thor and Iron Fist, have been nerfed. However, the biggest controversy to come out of these changes is the decision to buff Hawkeye, as bots in Quick Play are hunting down players with 100% accuracy.

Hawkeye bots are dominating matches after Marvel Rivals Season 2.5

If you’re unaware, Hawkeye has received a massive buff with the recent Marvel Rivals update. NetEase Games has decided to sharpen Clint’s aim, and now, he’s a menace. The base damage of his standard arrow has been increased from 32 to 34. His Blast Arrow has also seen improvements, with projectile damage increasing from 15 to 16, and its spell field damage has been boosted from 32 to 34.

That’s not all, as his maximum focus has been upped from 70 to 75, and his aiming mechanics have been fine-tuned, which makes his shots quicker and consistent. One might think that after these buffs, Hawkeye is dominant in the hands of pros. However, as seen in a clip uploaded on r/MarvelRivals, it’s really just AI bots that are exploiting the hero’s new boosts with perfect accuracy.

It’s mind-boggling how bots are able to use Hawkeye better than real players after these buffs. Numerous players have reported that AI-controlled Hawkeyes are tracking targets with perfect precision and relentlessly pursuing them down. Even easy-level bots are a nightmare when using Hawkeye.

Many in the community have launched petitions demanding that NetEase Games save Marvel Rivals by reverting these Hawkeye changes or nerfing down the capabilities of bots. We haven’t seen the developer making any comments yet, but NetEase is known for swiftly responding to player feedback. So, there’s a possibility that some changes might be on the way.

In the last couple of weeks, we’ve been treated to a variety of leaks in Marvel Rivals. It’s been reported that X-Men such as Gambit and Rogue might finally join the game’s roster. There are tons of new leaked skins and other additions.

Now, we might soon see characters affected by Venom’s Symbiote. A team of dataminers called

/X and revealed various audio files of characters such as Captain America, Storm, Rocket Raccoon, and Moon Knight.

All of these characters seem to be under the control of the infamous Symbiote. Captain America calls himself “Captain Kylntar,” Rocket warns his partner not to fight him, and Moon Knight hints at getting used to the Symbiote’s influence. Unfortunately, we don’t have any visuals of these skins.

Previously, it was reported that Knull, who rules Symbiotes, might arrive as the next villain in Marvel Rivals. These leaked skins would fit right in if Knull does make his appearance. In the comics, we’ve seen almost every character getting taken over by a Symbiote, so there’s a lot for NetEase Games to go on here.

With that said, how do you think NetEase can fix bots abusing the newly buffed Hawkeye in Marvel Rivals? Let us know in the comments below.
