Once again, Helldivers 2 is occupying all the headlines, but not in the best way possible. Players of the game have just found out that to play the title on Steam, they will now have to link their account with PlayStation Network to enter the game. 

This enraged fan of the always-active community of the popular IP attacked the developers, the studio, and Sony on every platform available to let them know that they would not do this. Johan Pilestedt, the game’s director, has just shared a link to PlayStation support. The game’s director is trying to reduce the heat.

In another chapter of the short history of Helldivers 2, Steam players have just found out about a new update that obligates the user to link the account with PlayStation Network to be able to play the game. This has quickly escalated into outrage and negative comments from fans across social media and even on the Steam page for the game. Arrowhead Game Studios has no idea about this and is trying to make fans calm down.

Sony has taken an unusual step by attempting to force players to link their accounts without any justification. This has infuriated fans, leading to an overreaction that is making headlines in the gaming industry. The studio’s developers are actively working to address this issue, and they are seeking Sony’s accountability for their actions. Even the CEO of the studio, Johan Pilestedt, is trying to make users complain about this with Sony’s official support.

After the whole Sony censorship debacle with Stellar Blade, the players were very sensitive about the company; this new update wasn’t applied with the best timing possible. Fans are furious with Sony’s actions over Helldivers 2 on Steam.

It’d be okay if you then allowed cross progression. Very weird to not have that. If I’m willing to pay you twice for the game why make it like this?

Pilestedt shared the support link from the ********* company, but he also stated that it was always part of the plan. Arrowhead decided to disable this step in the release, but it was always part of the Steam description as an agreement.

Many fans know that it is not Arrowhead Game Studios fault, but the anger towards Sony keeps escalating. Many players cannot even create a PlayStation Network due to region problems, so this backfires in the worst way possible, especially for Sony. The game’s users are waiting for a solution from either Sony or the development team. Pilestedt is trying to be as direct as he can on this sensitive subject.

The game plans to launch the new Warbond on May 9, called Polar Patriots, which will add three new weapons, three new grenades, armor, and many other things. The title was managing pretty amazing numbers before this happened; this can change every minute now, and ****** players will probably be skipping the game at least for some time. There is no sign of what will happen after this big change.
