7 Star Wars Characters We’re Dying to Play if Battlefront 3 Ever Drops

It’s been eight years since Star Wars Battlefront 2 launched, and we haven’t gotten the next title in the series. If you followed the launch of the last game, you’ll remember it wasn’t received very well back then. But mistakes have been fixed and updates have been made, and in 2025, the game is back in full force.

This has largely been thanks to the recent outburst of community support that has led to the game breaking its concurrent player record on Steam just recently. The message from fans is clear: give us a Battlefront 3. But let’s say we do get the next game, which new characters would we see? Here’s our picks.

1 Cal Kestis (Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order)

Cal Kestis has become a fan favorite thanks to the Star Wars Jedi games. Then there’s the fact that actor Cameron Monaghan blows it out of the park in his performance. Battlefront 3 would be the perfect crossover stage for him and the character. We hope to see him switch lightsaber stances mid-fight, and call on BD-1 for quick stims.

2 Ahsoka Tano (The Clone Wars, Ahsoka)

Ahsoka is probably one of the most beloved characters in the entire franchise. We’ve followed her journey from being Anakin’s reckless Padawan to the wise, white-blade-wielding nomad we now see in live-action. It would be so amazing if we saw her journey take her to Battlefront 3 next. That is, if it ever gets made.

3 Din Djarin (The Mandalorian)

Let’s be real, no one doesn’t want to play as Mando. In an era where the movies and shows in the franchise faced criticism and a drop in quality, The Mandalorian is what brought it back. Din Djarin has reshaped modern Star Wars as we know it, and it would be criminal not to have him in the next Battlefront game.

4 The Stranger (Star Wars: The Acolyte)

The Acolyte may not have been the best in recent years, but the masked villain known as The Stranger easily stole the show. The show didn’t hit every mark, but you know what did? The Stranger’s dark, horror-inspired design. Bringing something like that to the next Battlefront game would bring an entirely fresh tone to the hero-vs-villain matchups.

5 Fennec Shand (The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett)

Fennec Shand, played by Ming-Na Wen, is one of the coolest bounty hunters we’ve seen in the galaxy far, far away. We have plenty of Jedi and Sith in the Battlefront games. What we need is her sniper rifle, throwing knives, and unmatched martial arts skills. And yes, Ming-Na Wen could totally reprise her voice role.

6 K-2SO (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story)

Not all heroes need to be flesh and blood. We couldn’t leave out K-2SO, the reprogrammed Imperial droid with both sarcasm and serious punch. We already have other drones like BB-8 and BB-9E in Battlefront 2, and if the devs are planning on adding more, it has to be K-2SO.

7 Nightsister Merrin (Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order)

We’re going a bit off the expected path here, but hear us out. Nightsister Merrin from Jedi: Fallen Order would be a great addition. As a wielder of dark magick, Merrin could summon spirits, teleport short distances, and so much more. If you’re one of the people who want something truly different, Merrin is exactly that.
