Somebody shot Evans in the foot, hitting a major artery and causing intense bleeding. He said that even days later, he is still bleeding through his bandages. In the days following, Evans said he has been thinking about the shooting constantly. Horry County Police said this was an isolated incident and the community is not at risk, but Evans disagrees. “How isolated can it be if the boy is still out there roaming the streets, shooting random people? We’re random people to him,” Evans said. He is also disappointed in Horry County Police’s attempts to find the shooter as there have been no large alerts to find the suspect or a manhunt. What happened on the pier on Memorial Day Weekend in Little River that led to a mass shooting? On May 25, there was a boat party This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up Evans said. The boat left the Little River docks near Watson Avenue after 6 p.m. and returned at 9 p.m. While people were exiting the vessel after the party, someone began shooting with a firearm. Up until the shooting, Evans said it was a fun party. There were drinks, food and a DJ playing good music. Living in Atlanta, Evans does not get many opportunities to spend time with all of his friends, so he was excited to spend the evening partying with his crew. “It’s not many times when I’m able to be around all my people at one time. So an event like this, of course, it was like, we’re gonna have a really good time today,” Evans said. While walking on the pier next to the boat after the party, one of the DJ’s speakers fell onto his sister’s head. She began bleeding, so Evans and his friends stopped to help her. During that moment, a woman he did not know exited the boat with two men. Evans said the woman and her friends started a verbal argument with his group. As Evans got up to walk over to the woman, the gunshots began. He said he saw one of the woman’s friends reach into his pocket, and it looked like he was about to pull out a gun. Evans never saw the man fire a weapon, but believes that he is the shooter. Evans saw a party promoter fall first, and then seconds later, Evans himself dropped to the deck. “I did not realize before I fell that I was shot in my foot,” Evans said. One of his friends was also shot in the foot and jumped into the water to try to protect herself. Other people had to pull her out. The last thing Evans remembers before going unconscious is his sister calling his name. When he woke up, he was in an ambulance. “At that moment, I didn’t know if we were all alive or if somebody died, or what the situation was,” Evans said. The first night in the hospital, Evans said he could not sleep. He would see his friends injured while being transported through the unit, but did not know their medical conditions. “I hate to say it, but if a group of white people were shot out here, there would be a whole manhunt underway,” Evans said. “You’re not seeing that with this situation.” This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up #River #mass #shooting #victim #questions #manhunt #Horry #suspect This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up 0 Quote Link to comment https://hopzone.eu/forums/topic/263236-little-river-mass-shooting-victim-questions-why-there%E2%80%99s-no-manhunt-in-horry-for-suspect/ Share on other sites
