The Batman Arkham franchise is one of the greatest franchises in the history of video games. The series literally brings our favourite DC superhero to life and gives us the pleasure of playing as the Caped Crusader. While the whole series is a masterpiece of its own, what truly stands out from the rest is Batman: Arkham Knight.

Batman: Arkham Knight is the fourth main installment in the franchise, and although the game is almost a decade old, fans of the title are enjoying it to the fullest even now. One hardcore fan even introduced a co-op mod to the game, which lets you and your friends play as characters in the Arkhamverse. Let’s delve deeper into this.

Arkham Knight cancelled multiplayer plans

Batman: Arkham Knight is a third-person action-adventure game that was developed and released by Rocksteady Studios back in June of 2015. While the installation process looks a bit daunting, especially for players who just want to enjoy a hassle-free co-op experience, it is genuinely not that bad. If you just follow the step-by-step instructions, then you’ll easily be able to get the mod up and running without any hassle. The mod even has a long list of characters that players can choose and play as, which adds more dynamism to the game.

Instead of reigniting the passion for Arkham Knight, this mod brings in a new kind of fun to the game. After almost a decade of enjoying Arkham Knight completely alone, we finally have the chance to play it with friends and use different characters from the Bat-family.

Although the mod does have its hiccups, and it does not seamlessly combine co-op with the OG single-player game, when you start playing it with your friends, it feels like there should have been a multiplayer aspect to it since the start. Looking back, it’s genuinely surprising that, even though having a massive open city to explore and a wide range of characters, Rocksteady never added the official co-op mode.
