Evercore Heroes: Ascension two years ago. Its vibrant characters and intense, competitive action certainly scratched the League of Legends itch, with the PvE combat making it feel more akin to a playable Race to World First tournament than a traditional MOBA. But a lot has changed: in 2024 Vela Games announced that the game was undergoing a slight transformation, booting the competitive PvP element to focus entirely on PvE and add in roguelike-inspired elements. Since then, the team's been hard at work bringing its new vision to life and, if you've been following Evercore as closely as I have, you'll be excited to know that it's finally got a launch date - and it's just around the corner.
