It’s a nightmare for Vanguards and Support since they often take the hit for the faults of Duelists. They can “GG no diff” their way out of losing matches, unlike tank and healer mains. Naturally, they waged a war against the DPS players, belittling them for their lack of teamwork, and can you blame them? DPS insta-lockers hardly understand the importance of Vanguards and Supports, let alone playing well with the Duelists. “Critical thinking” isn’t required on the resume for playing Duelists in Marvel Rivals At least, that’s what the Vanguard and Support mains are saying, and to some extent, it’s completely valid. Duelist insta-lockers would rather throw the match and go 2-9 with heroes like Spider-Man or Wolverine than switch to another role that would benefit the team. A user named FlondreBg on the Marvel Rivals subreddit detailed their experiences of having DPS insta-lockers in matches and losing the game, owing to their incompetence. Read through the frustrating experience yourself: This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up by This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up in This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up The optimal team composition has always been two Duelists, two Vanguards, and two Supports, yet the DPS insta-lockers are hellbent on sticking to the role, even if the result of the match is at stake. Part of the reason why there was a Support strike not long ago. Numerous users agreed with the OP’s sentiment of Duelist insta-lockers lacking critical thinking skills, because who wouldn’t get frustrated trying to keep up with players refusing to switch because they’d rather play DPS and take the L than switch to Vanguards and Supports? It’s only fair that tanks and healers also get a chance to play Duelists to avoid a monotone experience. At this point, other players would rather choose the role they want instead of the role they’re required to, even if it means losing the match if the DPS players don’t switch. That’s not even a bad strategy, because if players want to be rigid and stick to insta-locking Duelists, then the ones who’ll suffer the consequences should do the same, to even the odds. Here’s hoping the war dies down a bit with the arrival of Season 2.5 in Marvel Rivals, but who knows? You can’t have someone playing both Duelist and Support in a single match. But what if you could? Ultron will undoubtedly be insta-locked as soon as he drops on Marvel Rivals This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up Beware, DPS insta-lockers, Support players are getting their messiah to insta-lock on May 30th as Ultron is confirmed to be a hybrid character, taking on the role of both Duelist and healer. Looking at his abilities, we’d say he’s more of a Strategist than a healer, but a great addition to the growing roster of Marvel Rivals. Maybe the war on Duelist insta-lockers by Vanguards and Supports is about to get even worse, as DPS players will rush to insta-lock Ultron even though he’s a Strategist. Now, that’s a level of hypocrisy that can make General Shepherd’s betrayal look like child’s play. However, sometimes, insta-locking Duelists can prove to be the right move for the team, as some players excel with DPS heroes. An exception can be made for that, but one good apple doesn’t make a rotten basket edible. So, what do you think about the war on the DPS insta-lockers by Vanguard and Support mains in Marvel Rivals? Do you think the insta-lockers are justified in doing so, or are tank and healer mains right in calling out their inability to switch? Share your thoughts and opinions in the comment section below.
