4 Dead 2, and Killing Floor 2 appeared to have reached a height that the horror subgenre would never return to going forward. This isn't the case anymore, with recent games like the zombie infested, This War of Mine-inspired Into the Dead garnering plenty of interest on Steam, something that doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon thanks to the game's first big update since launch.
