Bug Divers Branded Traitors for Not Defending Super Earth

The Helldivers 2 community is no stranger to unwavering dedication. But even among the most loyal defenders of Super Earth, there’s a unique breed: the Bug Divers. These players are laser-focused on one goal: wiping out the Terminid threat. To them, nothing else matters. Illuminate? Automatons? Major Orders? Irrelevant.

If it doesn’t crawl, swarm, or explode in a gooey mess, they’re not interested. Their commitment is so absolute that it borders on fanatical, and while their efforts have pushed back the bug menace in countless campaigns, that single-mindedness is now causing friction.

Major Order is on the brink in Helldivers 2, and the Bug Divers are to blame

A recent Major Order tasked all Helldivers with pushing back the Illuminate from the Super Earth itself, and for days, progress was steady, until it wasn’t. While the Super Earth is not lost, the order has failed by a small margin of 2%. The community isn’t just disappointed; they’re furious.

The blame? It’s falling squarely on the Bug Divers, those die-hard exterminators who care about nothing except wiping out every last Terminid. While the rest of the community is off invading Illuminate to secure Super Earth, the Bug Divers are still down in the trenches, gleefully farming bugs like it’s their only purpose.

And honestly, for them, it is. They’re not interested in the Major Orders, they don’t care about other alien factions, and they certainly don’t seem to care about missions right now. For some players, this isn’t about passion anymore; it’s about disobedience.

And when Super Earth’s commands are on the line, that’s a serious offense. Players have had enough, and in true Helldivers 2 fashion, they’re fighting back the only way they know how: memes.

Everywhere you look, Bug Divers are getting roasted, called traitors, and memed into oblivion. It’s all fun and games until Super Earth actually falls because someone couldn’t stop farming bugs.

Repetitive missions or democratic duty? A call for balance

To be fair to the Bug Divers, some of the frustration isn’t entirely misplaced. The recent mission rotations have been heavily Illuminate-focused. While Arrowhead’s plan to make Illuminate the center of the current galactic war arc makes sense, many players feel the mission pool has become stale.

The same objectives, the same enemies, the same glowing death beams, it’s starting to wear thin. Some Divers have even taken “breaks” by heading off to fight Automatons or bugs just for a change of pace.

And honestly, who can blame them? But still, as defenders of Super Earth and its elite soldiers, there’s an expectation to maintain: when a Major Order is active, everyone contributes. Even if the missions are repetitive, democracy doesn’t wait for variety; it demands results.

It doesn’t matter if you’re killing bugs, bots, or energy phantoms; the mission comes first. Hopefully, Arrowhead realizes this soon and starts spicing things up with more enemy variants or unique objectives, but until then, the duty stands.

For now, Helldivers are reminded of a hard truth: you don’t have to enjoy every mission, but you have to finish the fight.
