Blade has seemingly vanished as Marvel Rivals shows absolutely no plan to bring him into the playable character roster. This is similar to Arkane Studio’s Blade game and the MCU’s Blade movie, which haven’t seen much activity either. Why are you guys doing him so dirty?

Blade is one of the most loved characters in Marvel comics, for his iconic drip. If not the most loved, he is easily the coolest one around. As per leaks, Blade will be a Duelist in Marvel Rivals, which has many excited, yet NetEase chose to add another Strategist. So will the part-vampire ever see the daylight?

There are leaks that suggest Blades’ abilities and how he’d look in the game. So if he does exist somewhere in game files, where the hell is he in the live game, NetEase? The gaming world already has too many mysteries without any answers, just like why Ubisoft is still not bankrupt. It doesn’t need another one.

However, Blade’s disappearance has caused many fans to wonder if he has gone into slumber. Jokes aside, there might be a good reason behind it. As of now, there are eight characters, each in every single role, balancing everything and not tipping the game towards being a Duelist-dominated game.

The release of Ultron with Season 2.5 proves that the leaks have been correct so far. In that case, it might be possible that Blade will arrive in the game with Season 3 or 3.5. Following him up would be Professor X, whose helmet has been teased with an emote for Emma Frost.

These are highly speculative predictions, so take them with a grain of salt. Some leaks suggested that Marvel Rivals is looking to bring multiple heroes in one season, but how that would work out is doubtful. Overall, whatever NetEase is trying to do, they should be left to cook.

Is bringing multiple Heroes into Marvel Rivals together a good idea?

Hero shooters are only special for their unique characters with a variety of skills. However, bringing many characters together can leave players confused about the meta or balancing. Moreover, it is risky for developers too, which has happened previously with Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Siege.

Usually, Ubisoft used to bring two characters at the beginning of every season, making eight characters in total yearly. However, that has caused a lot of balancing issues, and even tonnes of bugs. Later on, they are forced to bring that number to one character per season.

However, the Operators in Rainbow Six Siege have only one special ability, and having multiple of them caused players to get overwhelmed. Giving a character multiple abilities might be a fun concept, but from a player’s perspective, it gets overwhelming in the future.

If Marvel Rivals can take on the challenge of developing multiple playable characters at once, they need to consider these risks. There are already many characters, and each has multiple skills. If the players are overwhelmed by that, it could lead to the same problem as Valorant. Well, that’s a story for another day.
