While Xbox and Sony Suffer Legendary Layoffs, Warhammer 40,000 Employees Are Getting Over $18K Each as Bonus

We’ve seen a massive portion of the tech industry experiencing workforce reductions in the years following the COVID pandemic. One of the biggest companies following the layoff trend was

, which cut thousands of jobs on multiple occasions for its gaming division. Even Sony followed the trend by downsizing its workforce across multiple PlayStation studios.

However, there’s one gaming company out there that isn’t bending its knees to this trend: Games Workshop. It’s the mind responsible for giving us the legendary Warhammer 40k franchise. Not only is it not indulging in layoffs, but it’s also giving its employees massive bonuses. It’s time to learn about

and Sony.

Games Workshop has

impressive growth figures for the 52 weeks ending June 1, 2025. The company’s revenue has reached €560 million from the previous year’s figure of €497.7 million. That’s not all; even the licensing revenue for the company has surpassed €50 million. Core profits have grown to €210 million, with licensing profits reaching €45 million.

When all these figures are combined, Games Workshop has achieved a pre-tax profit of €255 million, an increase from €203 million. Normally, gaming companies wouldn’t share an inch of their profits with their employees and instead give them the layoff treatment to maximize their revenue. We’ve seen even profitable developers get hit with layoffs.

However, that’s not the case with Games Workshop. The company recognizes the efforts of its employees and how their contribution has helped it achieve such massive numbers. It’s disturbing €20 million of profits to all of its employees. It’s estimated that the Warhammer developer has 1,500 employees, and if you divide the €20 million figure among all of them, you’re looking at each one of them getting $13,333. (roughly $18,000)

It’s not surprising that Games Workshop is thriving in an industry that is getting hit by layoffs left and right. Its Warhammer IP has gained a lot of attention in recent years thanks to the success of Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 and

revealing that Space Marine 3‘s development is in full swing. The short video gave us a look at an image of Titus on the left and the title on the right.

Unfortunately, the developer hasn’t revealed anything else about the title. It’s still unknown what we can expect to see in terms of content, gameplay, or even a release window.

Don’t worry; Space Marine 2 isn’t getting abandoned. Saber Interactive has released a full-fledged roadmap for 2025, and it’s packed with a bunch of exciting additions for Space Marine 2.
