It’s fair to say that Elden Ring Nightreign is one of the most anticipated titles of 2025. It’s a remixed version of FromSoftware’s most popular IP and blends in roguelike and co-op elements to set itself apart from Elden Ring. Gamers will be tasked with defeating punishing bosses and taking on the roles of eight different Nightmares. A few weeks ago, Elden Ring’s director, Juna Ishizaki, shared a bunch of details about the title and what players can expect out of the story. One of the many features we’ll be seeing in the co-op is Remembrance for each of the eight classes in the game. Let’s take a look at everything you need to know about this new system in Elden Ring Nightreign. Understanding Remembrances in Elden Ring Nightreign Well, if you’re someone who’s played Elden Ring before, you’ll be familiar with Remembrances. Basically, they’re items that are dropped when you take down tackle and defeat some of the biggest bosses in the Souslike. They can be traded for unique weapons or cashed in for Runes. However, Remembrances won’t function like that in Elden Ring Nightreign; it’s a different experience, so expect everything to be different. In the co-op, players will still be able to obtain Remembrances after fighting it out against certain bosses in the game. The twist here is that they will also tell you the backstories of Nightfares, or the eight-class characters. Remembrances in Elden Ring Nightreign go beyond allowing players to opt for different playstyles and team compositions. They’re supposed to give us an insight into the characters with unique stories. Between your matches, you will be able to engage with the Remembrances collected by visiting the library in the Roundtable Conference. Inside there, you’ll come across a journal that records each one. This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up Elden Ring Nighreign. Don’t worry; you’ll be able to experience everything alone; there’s no need for a team. Each memory will allow you to meet NPCs that will provide you with Nightreign‘s take on side quests. (Image via FromSoftware) What’s interesting about Elden Ring Nightreign is that the game allows only a solo or three-player squad experience. That’s right, no way to jump into the game with a two-person team. You’ll be automatically matched with a third person to complete the squad. It’s quite a weird mechanic, but it might be changed later. While chatting with This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up , Ishizaki touched upon the topic of two-player squads in Elden Ring Nightreign. He admitted that the game is limited in duo play. According to Ishizaki, the development team’s oversight caused the lack of two-player squads. It wasn’t a deliberate decision, as FromSoftware accidentally missed the duos component. However, the game director later revealed that FromSoftware is currently thinking about adding support for duo squads in Elden Ring Nightreign. Although it’s far from confirmation, there’s a chance we could see the co-op gameplay expanding soon. Elden Ring Nightreign will be released for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, and PC on May 30, 2025.
