(WSAV) — The Savannah Police Department (SPD) has confirmed four people have been injured in a early Saturday morning shooting downtown. Police say the shooting happened in the 100 block of West Congress Street around 2 a.m. Saturday. They say three of the people shot were taken to a hospital by ambulance with serious injuries, one was transported by a third party. SPD says that two groups got into a physical altercation before shots were fired, resulting in the injuries. Savannah Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call CrimeStoppers at 912-234-2020. This is a developing story and will be updated as new details become available.
