El Paso police investigate shooting in far East Side neighborhood

El Paso police detectives are investigating a late night shooting in a neighborhood in the far East Side over the Memorial Day holiday weekend.

A man believed to be in his early 20s was transported to a hospital following a shooting that occurred about 11 p.m. Friday, May 23, in the 1700 block of Dana Michelle Street, Officer Adrian Cisneros, a police spokesman, said in a video message.

The location is in the Montwood Heights neighborhood off Montwood Drive, east of Loop 375.

The medical condition of the wounded man was not available. The shooting is under investigation by detectives with the Crimes Against Persons Unit.
