June 26 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting days in the game’s post-launch life. The long-awaited Siege Mode has finally been revealed during the recent Warhammer Skulls Showcase. The upcoming update will be entirely free and will introduce a new PvE mode alongside two cosmetic DLCs for the Season Pass. From battling an endless horde to the ability to summon a Dreadnought into battle, this update is going to be a big one. Space Marine 2 is getting a new game mode that we’ve all been waiting for The biggest part of the new update is the Siege Mode, a free PvE co-op mode coming to Space Marine 2 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Designed for squads of three, the mode will put us against never-ending waves of Tyranid and Chaos forces in the defense of an Imperial fortress on the jungle world of Kadaku. If you’re eager to play the new mode early, Siege will go live on PC’s Public Test Server starting June 4. It’s like Saber Interactive saw the latest Hellivers 2 update and didn’t want to miss out on the action. One of the biggest features of Siege Mode is that we’ll be able to summon a Dreadnought. Specifically, Brother Valtus, the mighty Redemptor from the Ultramarines 2nd Company. While we won’t be able to pilot it directly, we can call him in for support. This won’t just be a show of firepower because it also shows the kind of fan service that Warhammer fans crave. So this means that we’ll have a seamless experience in terms of progression. It also allows those who haven’t hit level 25 to continue leveling up. Saber Interactive is nowhere near one with the post-launch support This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up While the Siege update is a centerpiece for the game’s current season, there’s much more in the pipeline. According to Willits, Space Marine 2’s post-launch support will continue beyond Year One. We can expect new missions, additional weapons, an entirely new class, and even more cosmetic content. And in case you were wondering, Siege Mode will remain locked to three-player squads. Willits explains that a fourth player made balancing too difficult without breaking the experience. Still, the studio has remained supportive of the game’s modding community and its efforts. One of them is the 12-player co-op mod, which you can try out. Looking beyond June, there’s more coming in Season 4. We’re also getting a new PvP game mode, a new Chaos enemy, and further changes to classes. A new class is also in development, though Saber is keeping details under wraps for now. What do you think of this upcoming mode? Let us know in the comments!
