Decisions You’ll Live to Regret in The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered

In life, you can make a lot of bad decisions, which will forever haunt you. It may be a bit sadistic to say, you can do the same in The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered! It doesn’t surprise anyone much, as it is one of the most detailed RPG franchises out there.

However, some decisions are the absolute worst things you in do in the Oblivion Remastered. If you want to be more of an evil guy in Cyrodiil, then this article could be a ****** for you.

Or if you want to be a goody two-shoes and know what not to do, this could be a reference for you. Either way, this article is all about making the worst choices in The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered.

The worst things to do in The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered

Taking a wrong turn is more common than you think; however, making them deliberately is a different issue altogether. You can approach a story in Oblivion Remastered in various ways, and even make a wrong choice. We’ve listed five of the worst decisions ever, but there are more. Without further ado, let’s get started!

5 Giving up on a Daedric Artifact without thinking twice

Daedric Artifacts are powerful pieces of equipment that can be found around the world of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered. However, you have to give up on one of them during a main quest. It could be an easy job if you way too powerful pieces of equipment.

Though you should pay some attention and give it a thought before losing one of your precious Daedric Artifacts. Some of them are really good, like Azura’s Star and Ring of Namira. Both of which have good effects, which can be helpful during the journey.

Instead, you just get rid of Savior’s Hide or Masque of Clavicus Vile. They only have some armor enchantments, which aren’t as great when compared to other armors or headgear you can encounter in the game. For instance, the Morag Tong armor set has great stats that surpass the aforementioned Daedric Artifacts.

4 Torturing a poor man by stealing from him, even after being rewarded

You can make all kinds of choices in The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered, ranging from good to evil. If you really don’t like someone, you can always antagonize them. But, do you have to do so for everyone?

During the early game, you can come across an NPC named Aelwin Merowald, who has some “fish” problems. Of course, that sounds like some meagre optional quest. That is something that shouldn’t interest you, as you can expect a lot of good things after.

What do you do instead? Laugh at his face, don’t care about his debts to some guy. That’s one of the worst things you can do, you evil soul! However, you can make it worse. Just take on the quest and complete it to reap the rewards. Surprisingly, it gives an amazing early game item called Jewel of the Rumare.

The shiny ring has a value of 2,550 Gold, which is free real estate. However, you can persuade him to gain access to his savings, which is locked by a key he owns. Yoink that key with your thieving skill, and take whatever the poor man owns. Hope it helps you sleep at night.

3 Sending a Dunmer to death for trying to do the right thing

If you’re visiting the lovely town of Cheydinhal, you’ll come across a lot of nice hearted Dunmers. However, with good comes evil, as there is a corrupt guard captain named Ulrich Leland. Since the Count doesn’t care about what goes on in public, the captain takes pride in subduing inhabitants. A good adventurer should take care of it!

You can try to fight against the oppression by convincing the nice folks of Cheydinhal. Let’s talk to one of the victims of Ulrich, Aldos Othran, who is homeless and drinks on his day off. Convince him to testify to fight against Unrich and his reign of terror.

After being convinced, he goes to his house to claim back what’s his. It doesn’t go as planned, as it soon erupts into a fight, where he gets killed by the guard. Enraged by the harrowing experience Aldos went through, the citizens of Cheydinhal take matters into their own hands.

One of the NPCs, Llevana Nedaren, takes the fight against Ulrich by threatening to expose him. Ulrich takes the bait by visiting her, where he gets killed by the NPC, and she gets captured for *******. Bitter-sweet justice, right? Well, you can take the alternative path, which doesn’t involve violence and deals with matters legally. Makes it worse once you know this path.

2 Dooming an entire village to stay invisible by being stupid

If you talk to the Inn-Keeper at Roxey Inn, you’ll get to know about a strange village named Aleswell, where the inhabitants are invisible. Once you visit the place, you get to know that it is because of a mage who is oblivious to his experiments.

Like a good Samaritan, you visit the tower where he resides, and tell him about his doing. To fix his mistakes, he gives you a scroll with instructions that should be followed. The scroll should be used at the center of the village to lift the spell.

What if you didn’t follow his instructions and used it somewhere else? Well, the scroll does its thing, but it doesn’t affect the village. So you go back to the mage for a backup scroll, the last of its kind, which you waste again. Dooming the villagers to remain invisible forever, and you hated them as they trusted you.

1 Telling Grey Prince the truth of his origins

In the Imperial City of Cyrodiil, you can visit the arena to show off your skills and come out as a victorious warrior. While you visit the place, you can take your time to learn about the warriors you fight. There you meet the Grey Prince, Agronak gro-Malog.

With pride in his heart, he takes the title seriously. However, he does have questions about his origins, and doubts what her mother said. So you get a quest in The Elder Scrolls Oblivion Remastered. Find out about the origins of the mysterious character.

Following the quest, you’ll find out that he’s a part Orc and part vampire. Once you give the diary that states him to be part-vampire. Once he knows the truth, he loses all hope in life as vampires are “vile” creatures. So, once you encounter him in the arena, he begs you to kill him as he does not want to live a lie. Giving up is not the way, mate.
