Pokemon TCG Pocket’s next expansion will introduce Pokemon Sun and Moon’s extradimensional Ultra Beasts to the free-to-play mobile game, and players won’t have to wait long.

The Extradimensional Crisis expansion will arrive May 29 and introduce over 100 new cards to Pokemon TCG Pocket, including new Trainer, Pokemon EX, and, for the first time, Ultra Beast cards. While there don’t seem to be any specific new rules around what are basically Pokemon’s version of aliens, each Ultra Beast card is clearly labeled as such.

That will allow them to interact with other cards in certain ways, like the Trainer Lusamine, who can take energy from the discard pile and attach it to an Ultra Beast.

While the focus is on the Ultra Beasts like Buzzwole, Blacephalon, and Nihilego, there are non-Ultra Beast cards as well, such as Tapu Koko EX and others.

Extradimensional Crisis will arrive a month after the release of the Sun and Moon-based Celestial Guardians expansion, which added Alolan variants of various Pokemon as well as new cards for legendary Pokemon like Sogaleo and Lunala. Celestial Guardians’ release coincided with Pokemon TCG Pocket’s six-month anniversary, with an in-game event allowing players to earn new promo cards, coins, playmats, and other cosmetics.

Pokemon TCG Pocket developers Creatures Inc. and DeNA announced in March they were looking to overhaul the game’s unpopular trading system just a few months after it was released, announcing plans to remove the game’s current trade-token currency in an update this fall. Instead, Shinedust, currently used for cosmetic upgrades to cards, will be repurposed into a trading currency. The developers have stated they are looking at ways to increase the amount of Shinedust players earn in order to accommodate the currency’s upcoming role.
