Perth traffic: Boy taken to hospital after being hit by car in Bayswater as peak-hour headaches build

A young boy has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car in Bayswater.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Whatley Crescent, near Leake Street, about 8am on Wednesday.

The boy, who is aged under 10, was rushed under lights and sirens to Perth Children’s Hospital.

The extent of his injuries are not known.

A ****** on St George’s Terrace eastbound in the CBD has reduced traffic to a single lane.

Police and an ambulance are onsite and traffic is heavy on approach.
