that a sailboat, which capsized on Lake Monona around 8 p.m. on Friday, May 16, had four people on board. Madison Fire Rescue responded to Lake Monona shortly after 8 p.m. on May 16 for the report.

Wisconsin off to its fastest start to severe weather in the past decade

One person drifted to the shore on the overturned boat, while the other three hung on to a kayak. Two of three people who held on to the kayak were rescued, but the fourth person, who reportedly was not wearing a life jacket, is yet to be found.

The recovery efforts on Lake Monona have been suspended due to high winds and poor weather conditions overall; however, they will resume Wednesday or Thursday, should the weather be cooperative.
