Pokémon Go will end the Might and Mastery season with the Strength in Numbers Global Challenge

• Strength in Numbers runs from May 20th to 22nd
• Give as many gifts as you can
• Special Research tickets for the Community Day Classic can also be gifted

The Might and Mastery season in Pokémon Go is gearing up for its finale, and Niantic’s putting teamwork at the centre of it all. From Tuesday, May 20th to Thursday, May 22nd, the Strength in Numbers Global Challenge invites you to send Gifts to your friends. Lots of them.

During the challenge window, you’ll be able to open up to 50 Gifts per day. That’s more chances for Stardust, items, and friendship boosts, but more importantly, it pushes the global community closer to unlocking a sweet reward, giftable Special Research tickets for the upcoming Community Day Classic: Machop.

If the challenge is completed in time, starting May 23rd, you’ll be able to send these Machop Special Research tickets to any friend you’ve reached Great Friends status with. The tickets can be gifted even if you haven’t bought one for yourself – just head to the in-game shop and spread the Fighting-type love. Each trainer can gift up to 20 tickets per day, so there’s plenty of room to be generous.

This leads directly into the Machop event itself on May 24th, from 2 to 5 pm local time. The Superpower Pokémon will be showing up more frequently in the wild, and yes, the Shiny is back too, perfect for anyone who missed the first run or wants another shot at building a green-glowing Machamp army.

Evolve Machoke up until May 31st to get a Machamp that knows Payback, a Dark-type Charged Attack that gives the classic Fighter a bit of an edge in certain match-ups. Between the Stardust bonuses, three-hour Incense and Lures, and limited-time Timed Research that adds a themed Machop encounter with boosted Shiny odds, there’s plenty to dig into.
