Two hikers rescued from Bluff Knoll after one of them hurt their ankle

Two hikers have been rescued from Bluff Knoll more than 24 hours after one of them hurt their ankle.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services, St John WA and WA Police were called to the mountain to help an injured male hiker about 6.30pm on Saturday.

Police made contact with the hiker and his female hiking partner, who confirmed they had adequate supplies to camp safely overnight.

The pair were recovered from the mountain about 9.20pm on Sunday.

The injured male hiker was conveyed to Albany Health Campus for medical treatment.

Bluff Knoll is the highest peak in the Stirling Range National Park and takes up to four hours to climb.
