In many southern Lebanese villages, there are no signs of life. People have fled, leaving towns deserted.

******* has been carrying out strikes on southern Lebanon almost daily since Hezbollah – the powerful Lebanese Shia Islamist group – fired rockets at ******* on 8 October in support of ****** in Gaza, triggering an escalating series of attacks and counter-attacks.

The spiralling tensions and cross-border strikes have ******* more than 70 civilians in Lebanon.

The BBC’s Carine Torbey visits an area destroyed by the attacks and gets as close as possible to the ******** border wall.
