Husband, brother-in-law charged with ******* of woman after ‘suspicious’ death in Springfield Lakes, near Ipswich

Two men have been charged with ******* following the “suspicious” death of a woman west of Brisbane.

Emergency services were called to a home on Ash Ave in Springfield Lakes about 8pm on Friday, following reports a woman had collapsed.

Officers located the woman, 23, who was unconscious and not breathing.

Despite attempts by police and paramedics to resuscitate her, she was declared deceased at the scene.

A crime scene was established and two men – the woman’s husband, 26, and his 28-year-old brother – were taken into custody.

The men were initially helping police with their inquiries throughout Saturday.

In a further update, Queensland Police said both men had since been charged with one count each of *******.

They will front Ipswich Magistrates Court on Monday.

Detective Inspector Michael Manago said detectives were running a number of lines of inquiry into what allegedly happened the night before.

He said he could not go into detail in regards to the woman’s alleged injuries until a post-mortem examination was completed.
