What makes Rainbow Six Siege special is the core gameplay, which sets it apart when compared to others. For instance, the character abilities that change the strategy completely. You may say, Valorant has characters with abilities, too. Well, it isn’t the same.

In Valorant, every character has four different abilities and works similarly to other characters. For instance, flashbang from characters like Phoenix, Yoru, and Skye may have different methods of execution, but the result is the same.

In Rainbow Six Siege, every character has one unique ability that switches the approach. No ultimate ability, just an ability that needs proper execution. A simple ability to state would be the Bandit Battery. This is used to electrify reinforced walls to prevent attackers from breaking through the wall.

If a good Bandit player manages to break all the breach charges or attackers, they have no way to break the reinforced wall and are forced to take a different approach. Most free-to-play games have in-game stores and battle passes, which give live-service games revenue. While the player count hasn’t increased much in the last few years. It has remained profitable for these additions.

Going free-to-play means it can allow more players to join in the fun, and if they want to support, they can make in-game purchases. This is a tactic that has been abused by many live-service shooters, but it works. Sometimes they use thirst tactics to yield more from players. Marvel Rivals is doing it with Emma Frost, and players are going awooga.

Rainbow Six Siege might not manipulate players in that way, but it does encourage collaborations. Even Call of Duty does it too, even though each of their game has like one year life-cycle. Players want content; if they are desperate enough, companies can do anything. Let’s hope Rainbow Six Siege X doesn’t pull off something fishy.
