Nintendo of America sounds confident that Switch 2 supply should be in pretty good shape this year domestically. Sure, preorders sold out almost instantly for the June 5 launch, but company president Doug Bowser believes they have a good production plan for 2025–including the busy holiday season.

Speaking to

, Bowser was asked about meeting Switch 2 demand in the US. “As we look at our plans here in the US, we do believe we’ll have production and supply that will allow us to meet consumer demand,” said the Nintendo of America president. “We know there’s been strong positive reaction to Nintendo Switch 2 early on and we’ve seen that through our preorders, but we do have a plan to have a continuous flow of product that’ll be available through the holidays.”

Now Playing: Nintendo Switch 2 – Official System Overview Trailer

This echoes what Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa said earlier this month. He stated that production wasn’t a driving factor in forecasting 15 million unit sales of the upcoming system. Instead, he highlighted that Switch 2’s higher price compared to the original Switch could have the biggest effect on hardware sales this year.

Digital Foundry recently examined Switch 2’s specs and discovered that VRR is not supported in docked mode for the system. Nintendo has apparently backtracked quietly on this feature, though the tablet screen does offer VRR support. Other new tidbits about the hybrid console revolve around settings to prevent battery deterioration and per-game customization for the GL/GR buttons.

Switch 2 will cost $450 in the US when it arrives next month, alongside Mario Kart World.
