Helldivers 2 players just can’t catch a break as the Illuminate has launched a new attack on Super Earth, and this time, it is much *******. Super Earth has made it clear that it’s impossible to stop the Illuminate from reaching Super Earth, so players must prepare for a great battle. Arrowhead Game Studios has been constantly adding new enemies to the game. It started with Jet Brigade, then Predator Strain, and now, the new Illuminate Fleet.

While I appreciate what the developers are doing, they have yet to give us one of the most terrifying units from the first Helldivers game: Hive Lords. Since its release, players have come across a lot of evidence that proves that Hive Lords exist in Helldivers 2, but they have never made an appearance.

, Arrowhead Game Studios has talked about a lot of new enemies that have joined the battlefield. First is the Stingray, enemy fighter jets that provide aerial support. Next is the Crescent Overseer, which can lay barrages on Helldivers in cover. Finally, the Fleshmob, a “Frankenstein’s monster” of Voteless parts, is a massive unit that can test players to their limits.

All these new enemies are crazy, but Arrowhead is yet to add one enemy type to the game that all of us have been desperately waiting for: Hive Lords. Over the past few months, players have been speculating that Hive Lords are coming to the game. Players have come across skeletons of Hive Lords on Terminid-controlled planets, which was a clear hint that it might get added to the game at some point.

My patience is growing thin as I have been a huge fan of the first game, and taking down a Hive Lord was a satisfying experience. The Predator Strain is good, but we really need Hive Lords now.

Apart from the new enemies, the update also features weapon customization. The first game had this feature, so players have been expecting this for a while now. The addition of this will completely change the gameplay, as now players have the freedom to create unique loadouts. Attachments can be acquired by reaching certain weapon levels, which is similar to the system in Call of Duty games.

Previously, items in the Superstore would change periodically, but now, all items will always be available. Along with the release of the upcoming Masters of Ceremony Warbond, players will get various patterns for their weapons tied to the previous Warbonds in the game.

The aforementioned Illuminate enemies are just a part of the entire faction that Arrowhead plans to reveal in the coming weeks. The studio has teased that “there have been sightings of other, even larger ships,” so players should buckle up and prepare for a massive war.
