Perth traffic: Three crashes cause peak-hour chaos, motorcyclist taken to hospital with serious injuries

Drivers have been warned to expect peak-hour traffic chaos after three crashes — one of which has left a motorcyclist with serious injuries.

Emergency services rushed to the scene on Abernethy Road in Kewdale after reports of a ****** between a car and motorcycle about 6.55am on Tuesday.

The rider, a man in his 40s, was badly hurt and was taken to Royal Perth Hospital.

Abernethy Road has been closed in both directions at Aitken Way and Ferguson Street, with drivers urged seek alternative routes.

Motorists have also been warned to brace for heavy traffic following a multi-car collision on Tonkin Highway in Martin, which happened about 7.05am.

St John WA took a driver to Armadale Hospital with non-serious injuries.

Main Roads WA reported that debris had been cleared but said traffic was still heavy.
