You'll get a permanent upgrade that is applicable to your maximum Health, Shield, or Ammo. Unlike Sentinel Shrine upgrades, you can't choose which area to upgrade first. This will be pre-determined, but the upgrades are a must-have to prepare for the mid and late game. Any upgrade from Demonic Essence will be applicable as soon as you obtain it. The upgrades are also permanent, which is a nice thing to have. The upgrades will be minimal at first, but they all build up in the long run. Once you find a Leader, make sure to eliminate it to secure as much Demonic Essence as possible.
