Elder Scrolls 6 Fans on Hammerfell Leaks

No one can deny the fact that Virtuos’ Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered is absolutely fantastic. Gamers are enjoying every second of revisiting Tamriel, but it’s also making the wait for Elder Scrolls 6 more frustrating. It’s been seven years since Bethesda first teased the title with a teaser at E3, back when it was still a thing.

Bethesda hasn’t really shared much about the RPG since the initial announcement. All we know is that its development is in full swing, and it’s supposed to be the developer’s biggest project so far. However, that hasn’t stopped industry’s most reliable insiders and leakers from sharing their insights into the game, but Elder Scrolls fans aren’t willing to take any of it.

/X and shared some interesting details regarding Elder Scrolls 6. According to them, the highly anticipated RPG will be set in Hammerfell and High Rock. Gamers will be able to explore a world that’s filled with 12-13 cities.

The rumor suggested that we’ll see the introduction of a village and a fortress-building feature. Naval combat, ship-building mechanics, underwater exploration, and, best of all, the return of Dragons from Skyrim are also supposed to be included. The final piece of the rumor also suggested that a gameplay trailer for Elder Scrolls 6 might be revealed in July 2025.

If you’re someone who’s been actively keeping up with the developments within the Xbox sphere, you’d know eXtas1s is a reliable insider. He’s had a good track record when it comes to providing information on what Xbox is planning to do with the games under its wing. However, over on

has dismissed the rumors, saying theysmells like bulls*hit.” One might think that’s quite a surprising reaction considering the credibility of the leaker, but let’s not forget that Elder Scrolls 6 has a long history of vague rumors. Seasoned fans are highly skeptical of anything that doesn’t come from Bethesda.

Bethesda is a studio that’s known for its massive plans and ambitions that simply fail to be realized in reality. As user

says, “Bethesda can’t even make 2 major cities”, so the rumors starting that there’ll be dozens of cities for players to explore simply sound absurd. It’s going to be a big achievement for Bethesda if it manages to bring one major city, let alone 12-13.

What’s really interesting about the leak is the potential July 2025 showcase. However, as user

It’s quite clear that gamers are sick and tired of rumors surrounding Elder Scrolls 6. However, they’ll be pleased to hear that Todd Howard, the man himself, has stepped in and given everyone a much-needed update about the upcoming RPG.

A few weeks ago, Bethesda surprised everyone by releasing Oblivion Remastered. During the game’s

, Howard stated that the team was working hard on the sixth entry in the franchise.

Obviously, we’re working on the sixth chapter here, but what’s great about The Elder Scrolls is being able to look back at all of the chapters – Skyrim, Oblivion, Morrowind, Daggerfall, Arena. Each of them try to define roleplaying games and open-world games for their generation

It might sound absurd, but it’s the biggest piece of information we’ve officially received from Bethesda since the developer revealed in March 2024 that early builds of Elder Scrolls 6 were out for testers.

While chatting with

, former Skyrim developer Bruce Nesmith also stated that players shouldn’t expect many updates on Elder Scrolls 6 until six months before the official reveal.

So, it’s crucial to take everything that you see on the internet regarding Elder Scrolls 6 with a grain of salt, as none of it comes from Bethesda itself. When the time is right, the developer will officially give us a look at the RPG, and reveal how it plans to take the RPG genre forward.
